Overview

GCT 02 is a flagship national initiative designed to support Norway’s ongoing efforts in integration, intercultural inclusion, and community engagement. The program focuses on building bridges between migrant communities and the host society, recognising integration as a shared, multi-directional process that requires inclusive spaces, language support, and mutual understanding.

Through structured workshops, community dialogues, cultural events, and youth-led activities, GCT 02 promotes peaceful coexistence, civic engagement, and the celebration of diversity within individual identities.

GCT 02 – Migration, Integration & Diaspora Engagement is a Norway-based initiative addressing the shared challenges and opportunities of integration by fostering intercultural dialogue, language acquisition, and civic inclusion. Led by GCT–Norway, the program promotes peaceful coexistence and identity awareness through community workshops, cultural storytelling, and youth mentorship. It seeks to build bridges between newcomers, diaspora, and host communities, complementing national efforts on integration while advancing inclusive values that reflect Norway’s leadership in human dignity and social cohesion

Key Objectives

  • Facilitate language acquisition and cultural orientation programs tailored to newcomers.
  • Create safe and inclusive community spaces for intercultural dialogue and storytelling.
  • Promote youth leadership and mentorship among migrants and second-generation diaspora.
  • Build strategic partnerships with municipal authorities, NGOs, and cultural institutions.
  • Conduct research and share practical models on integration best practices across Scandinavia.

Key Objectives

Migration and diversity are central to the social fabric of modern Norway. GCT 02 recognises that successful integration goes beyond policy; it requires people-to-people connections, inclusive narratives, and platforms where cultural identity is respected while social cohesion is strengthened.
This program complements Norway’s national integration strategies and contributes to broader European dialogue on migration, human dignity, and shared values.
